A Letter From Scott

Hello poets and friends,

The artists from the North Port Art Center have begun creating art from selected poetry that was read at April's Open Mic at the North Port Library, Poetry at the Pond.

This Saturday, July 2, 4-6pm, the Art Center will host a reception for Fur, Fins, and Feathers & the invitational, Can You Paint A Poem?   Eight artist have selected the following poets and have hung their completed painted poetry:  Arlene Kincaid, Dobie Pasco, Cheryl Srnka, Patricia Brown, Edwin E. Ellis, James Geimer, Joanne Phillips, and Janis Russell.  Please, come and read your poem and join us for all of the poetry.
If you are unable to attend, a poet from the North Port poetry Workshop will read your work for you.

If your name did not appear here that does not mean you have not been selected, maybe the artist isn't ready yet, good news!!
A second reception will be held at the North Port Library, November 19, 2011, 1-4pm, to hang more art inspired by your poetry.  I'll update those selected poets in November.

You can check for updates and photos of this event in July at the webspot. nppoetryc.blogspot.com, the spot for North Port poetry news.

Thanks,

Scott Zirkelback
